ReplyDeleteI cannot attend the meeting at Yogesh's house today as I am preoccupied.
My Banyan Bosai which was like a stick with no leaves has sprung to life after I had done layering in the middle of the main trunk . I am learning fast , thanks to Shivaji & our Japanese friend who has been so keen to advice us
susheela , I have manured all my pots and I should say my plants are doing very well in this summer. The Schefflora varigated alone seems to be wilting with leaves falling off after droppin. I think it must be because of over watering . Can you tell me how to prune Schefflora

ReplyDeleteIt was interesting to read the comments posted by the members after the last meeting held on April 24 '10.
We propose to invite all those who are keen to join Bodhi for a workshop to be held in early July '10.
Decided to join Bonsai Study Group of Indo-Japanese Association, Mumbai founded by Jyoti & Nikunj Parekh.
We will also be subscribing "NICHIN BONSAI' a quarterly publication with a large readership (Editor: Nikunj Parekh) for the benefit of our members.
Hope yesterday's light summer showers will boost the growth of our parched bonsai plants.
Our participation in the Bonsai Demonstration and Exhibition at Indo-Japan Chamber of Commerce as part of their Climate Management Programme Series - 'Green Home' is another feather on Bodhi's cap!
ReplyDeleteAround 50 participants including many japanese ladies attended.
Suganthy did a wonderful demonstration. It was appreciated by all. I extended an helping hand.
After the demo, participants had an hands on experience of planting saplings in clay pots assisted by Suganthy, Suchitra, Frederic & me.
Ms Lan Minagawa (Wife of Consul-General of Japan)inaugurated the programme. A beautiful Bonsai (Ficus jaquinifolia - courtesy Dr Yogesh) was presented to her on behalf of 'Bodhi'.
Suganthy produced a colourful Brochure on Bonsai, 'Nature in Miniature' specially for this event. Participants found it quite informative.
Thanks Suganthy, you eficiently coordinated with all concerned.
I will try to upload few photos soon.
This event took place on 26 05 2010 at Indo-Japan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Teynampet, Chennai. Bonsai Exhibition was open to public on 27 & 28th May 2010.
